I SEE ART FOR EVERYONE WITH ELIZABETH-ANN DOYLE
For more than twenty-five years, Elizabeth-Ann Doyle worked in cultural institutions such as Place des Arts, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Cirque du Soleil. These experiences forged in her a passion for the arts and the celebration of beauty.
Elizabeth-Ann is co-founder of MU, a non-profit organization whose mission is to beautify the city of Montreal through art in the public space. Mu creates murals anchored in local communities, to see and experience art on a daily basis, to trigger social transformation and to turn Montreal into an open-air art gallery!
Similar to Philadelphia’s Mural Art project, MU creates extraordinary murals, powerful works that are primarily concerned with the democratization of art and local development.
To date, some 50 frescoes and 60 community murals have been completed. MU supports professional and emerging artists, collaborates with many different community groups, and inspires creativity and vocational ambitions in young people.
MU’s originality, topicality and outstanding results have been recognized through numerous awards; and Elizabeth-Ann’s dynamism and passion continue to embellish everyone’s lives in a wonderfully indiscriminate way.
